Sam and Mrs. Shanan Fowler.... it all started the first day of kindergarten... Sam entered a new and wonderful world. It was full of fun games, new friends, fascinating things to learn, and best of all, Mrs. Fowler. Sam blossomed under her care everyday. She taught him so much more than just how to read and write. She taught him that learning could be so much fun, that you treated your classmates with kindness and respect, that we are all special, and that sometimes "you get what you get, and you don't throw a fit!!" In turn, Sam loved her with a devotion that could almost make a mama jealous! Sam did not miss a single day of school in kindergarten. All I had to do to get him up in the morning was mention her name! He would climb out of bed, exclaiming, "I'm going to school! I'm going to see Mrs. Fowler!" But I could not be jealous! I loved her nearly as much as Sam did. I knew that there was someone wonderfully special looking out for my little guy each and every day. Shanan Fowler was a blessing and a gift from above in my little boys life. We have been previleged to count her as a friend ever since. Thank you, Shanan for being a part of our adventure that was Sam's life!!

You have no idea how much I needed to remember that sweet boy tonight and to know that he is looking down upon us and watching over us. Your family means the world to me and I am still honored to have had the opportunity to spend my days with Sam during his time in Kindergarten. I am the lucky one because it was such a blessing to have him walk through those doors with those big blue eyes and that big ole smile....and to then hear about one of the "adventures" that he was about to tell me, like finding a pet turtle! I love you all dearly and you will ALWAYS hold a big, special place in my heart. Thank you so much for posting this. I will be visiting here quite often!
